The mission of the New York State Education Department (NYSED), Office of Special Education, is to ensure that students with disabilities have opportunities to benefit from high-quality instruction, to reach the same standards as all students, and to leave school prepared to successfully transition to post school learning, living and working. Through this process, there are essential and fundamental procedural rights and protections afforded by federal and State law both to parents and students with disabilities.
NYSED has developed a Blue Print for Improved Results for Students with Disabilities. This SUPAC training will walk participants through the Blue Print’s seven core principles to help them develop a better understanding of each.
